Hi, everyone! Summer vacation has come to an end. I had a great summer! I read lots of books this summer. I also had a great time at summer camp, meeting new friends from all over the country. Now, I’m back in school mode!
School started a couple of weeks ago, and I’m having a great year so far. I’ve been riding my bike to school every day since school started. It’s so much fun riding to school, but it’s also super important to be safe while riding.
Riding bikes in Washington, D.C. is one of my favorite things to do. However, it’s important to make sure that I’m always using the best safety practices when riding and following the laws of the road. When riding to school, it’s really important to pay attention to the stop signs. It is very dangerous and illegal when cars do not stop. It’s also dangerous for bikers not to stop. Driving or riding a bike through a stop sign without stopping could hurt someone. It’s important that both cars and bikers obey all traffic signs. It’s also important that bikers are observant and look out for cars on the road.
Even if you don’t ride your bike to school, make sure to follow all street signs, look both ways when crossing the street, and pay attention to your surroundings.
Have a good, safe school year!
